Audan

Message From President

Badri Prasad Bhattarai
Auditors’ Association of Nepal (AUDAN), the national professional organization for auditors, represents approximately 8,000 auditors across Nepal, with an active presence in all provinces and 63 districts. Our primary objectives are to promote the importance of accounting and auditing, protect the rights of auditors, foster unity and professionalism, and contribute to economic prosperity and good governance. Since its establishment, AUDAN has been steadfast in advocating for the rights of auditors and making significant contributions to capacity development and professional growth. Through numerous training sessions, workshops, and seminars, we have consistently worked to enhance the skills and knowledge of our members. To address the market gap in accounting professionals, we have introduced Nepal’s first-ever 1,696-hour Professional Accountant Course in collaboration with CTEVT. This initiative aims to develop skilled manpower, meet market demands, and create employment opportunities for Nepalese youth. Beyond providing opportunities, this course is a step forward in strengthening good governance within the nation. Our association also actively collaborates with national and international organizations, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). Through our elected representatives in ICAN’s Council, we have made meaningful contributions to policy-making and implementation, ensuring transparency and fostering professional excellence. To further enhance the capacity of our members, AUDAN has successfully published the Reference Book on NFRS for SMEs, a landmark initiative to simplify accounting and auditing practices. We are also preparing to publish reference books on NAS for MEs and NAS for NPOs in the near future. Together, we will strengthen the auditing and accounting profession, support economic prosperity, and promote good financial governance. Let us uphold unity, equality, justice, and transparency as we lead the sector forward.

Message From Secretary General

Tilak Bahadur Adhikari
In the year 2063 B.S. (2006), a historic assembly of registered auditors in Kathmandu led to the founding of the Auditors' Association of Nepal (AUDAN) under the slogan "Unity is the Strength." Since then, AUDAN has represented and advocated for approximately 8,000 auditors across 63 districts of Nepal. Guided by its vision to safeguard auditors' rights and promote the highest standards of accounting, auditing, and integrity, AUDAN is committed to contributing to national prosperity. Its mission focuses on empowering auditors through professional development, promoting unity, and ensuring equality, justice, and transparency in the auditing sector. The association aims to promote the importance of accounting and auditing for economic growth, ensure impartial and independent auditing practices, enhance members' skills through training and innovation, and advocate for their rights and interests. AUDAN collaborates with ICAN and global organizations to align Nepal's practices with international standards while offering practical training in accounting through government-affiliated programs. Operating at district, provincial, and central levels, AUDAN’s structure includes the National General Assembly, National Council, Central Executive Committee, and various committees and departments. Provincial mechanisms cover all eight provinces, with a special wing in Bagmati Province for Valley districts. Membership options include general, lifelong, and honorary, open to ICAN members or individuals skilled in accounting education. Dedicated to professionalism, accountability, and ethical standards, AUDAN is committed to elevating the auditing profession and contributing to Nepal's economic prosperity and good governance. Together, we move forward with unity, transparency, and a shared vision for a brighter future. Thank you for your trust and support.
